Crown Adds To and Subtracts From Scripture

In its broadcast (Money Matters, the radio program of Crown Financial Ministries) dated September 10th 2007, Steve Moore, co-host, asked the question “Does God forbid debt because I’ve looked and I can’t find a verse that says ‘Thou shall not borrow’?” To which Howard Dayton jokingly responds, “No, it’s not the 11th commandment, thou shalt not borrow, it’s not sin, but it is discouraged and I think that’s what we need to keep in mind. Although the last of the three has sometimes got in by the door or the window – for the old serpent will wriggle through smallest crack- yet, thanks to a good wife, hard work, honesty, and scrubbing brushes, the two others have not crossed the threshold.”

-C.H. Spurgeon
