“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:33Archive for September, 2008
Full Preterist Heresy
For anyone who’s serious about theology and learning more about Christianity and the different views of eschatology, the folks over at Covenant Radio host some very good debates.
On 9/25 they posted a two-hour debate between Don Preston and Brian Schwertley. Preston is an excellent debater, and masterfully twists Scripture to suit his full preterist views. CR has hosted several debates with Preston against pre-millenialists, and he has left them stuttering and scratching their heads. Praise God that Rev. Schwertley not only tripped him up and asked him several questions he couldn’t answer, he also called Preston out as a heretic during the second hour.
In our age of megachurch apostasy and the “Gimme money and make me feel good” gospel, it’s refreshing to see guys like Mr. Schwertley who stand for the Truth, no matter the cost.
Encouragement for the Sabbath
Jer 20:7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
Jer 20:8 For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
Jer 20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Jer 20:10 For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
Jer 20:11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
Jer 20:12 But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
Jer 20:13 Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
Why Does This Keep Coming Up?
I complained a few weeks ago (Here Come the Eugenicists) that liberal talk radio was considering the idea of sterilizing minorities in order to lower the number of abortions. Now it turns out there’s a Republican lawmaker that wants to sterilize minorities to fight poverty. I hope it’s not lost on Christians that neither political party seems to be concerned about what God says on the matter. Read the rest of this entry »
Real Christians Homeschool! vol. 4
Mrs. Mallory & I were discussing some homeschool history the other day. I was reminded that I actually met a family in a very rural part of my home state that was homeschooling back when it was illegal to do so. How soon we forget! A lot of people of my generation (mid-30’s) don’t realize the sacrifices and sufferings that people had to go through to be able to do something that we take for granted today. It was just 19 years ago that Pennsylvania’s draconian anti-homeschool laws were revoked.
We do realize, however, that our ability to homeschool our kids could be curtailed at any time. The United States has a tendency to glamorize and want to follow the failings of Europe & Canada, and so a political change could cause things to swing back in the other direction.
We give thanks to God for men like RJ Rushdoony, and for the folks at the Home School Legal Defense Association, and rightly so. But let’s also not forget the folks who stood up for Christ and broke the ungodly laws that tried to prevent them from carrying out the clear and pure commands of Holy Writ.
Here’s to every family that closed their blinds during public school hours, and carried on the movement underground! You fought a battle we can never repay you for!
“Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.” (2 John 1:3)
Family Freedom Adjustments
We’ve been blogging on a number of things here for the past year, and the tenor of things has obviously changed a lot since September of 2007. We started out this blog to point out the coming financial judgment on the United States, and indeed much of the western world. We were scoffed at for pointing out so many times that financial debt is stealing, and that the Bible firmly teaches against the believer running into debt to supply things for himself.
We also diligently pointed out the worldly and unholy teaching practices of Dave Ramsey and Crown Financial Ministries; even though these folks say that debt is sin, their teachings reflect a hushed “But it’s not like a real BIG sin or anything” tone, and they don’t expect anyone to not be in debt. The Ramsey and Crown apologists have attacked us numerous times, and yet Scripture has never been used by these people to refute anything that we’ve said on this blog. I’m also happy to say that “Crown Financial Plan” is the most common search term that sends people to this site (Now I laugh!). For the most part, we don’t listen to these programs any more because the hosts blaspheme too often, and we couldn’t stand it any more.
Since God is in the process of destroying the U.S. financial structure, as He promised to do in the Bible, our blogging work is mostly done in that area. We’ll still touch on it occasionally, but God is leading us to blog more in the areas of ethics, homeschooling and other topics at this time. Mrs. Mallory stirred up a hornet’s nest over the original “Real Christians Homeschool!” post, so I’ve decided to make it a regular series here on FF. (I think the exclamation point in the title gives it that extra flair, so that will remain in place as well.)
Real Christians Homeschool! vol. 3
Andrea at Chalcedon blog has a great blog on homeschooling, very salty indeed. Her husband had an email exchange with a pastor who threw out the typical, “We let our congregants decide based on their conscience and the leading of the Holy Spirit as to whether they should home school or send the kids to public school.”
Below is an excerpt of her husband’s response, but I’d recommend you go and read the whole thing, it’s very typical of the same arguments we’re always battling. (It’s the post dated August 6, 2008):
“I would think these remarkable parents who have been “led” to send their children to public school would likewise have incredible stories to relate as to how their child, often alone, took on the powers of Satan in situations where those in charge had a size, power, age, educational and legal advantage over them. What bravery to challenge those who by the grades they give can seemingly dictate future options for the child.
It must be awesome indeed to be young and in a situation where the “history” books have been revised to exclude, slander or belittle men and women of faith. To be in that position at a young age and to be taught (and graded and tested) as a FACT that we came from a great explosion and somehow life “occurred,” then evolved to our current state, and that the Living God had nothing to do with it. This is a challenge for which many graduate students and tenured professors pale.”

“The List,” infamously compiled by World Net Daily:
Send them to jail
Here’s a group of pastors that will be going to jail soon, and deservedly so:
“CHICAGO — Declaring that clergy have a constitutional right to endorse political candidates from their pulpits, the socially conservative Alliance Defense Fund is recruiting several dozen pastors to do just that on Sept. 28, in defiance of Internal Revenue Service rules.
The effort by the Arizona-based legal consortium is designed to trigger an IRS investigation that ADF lawyers would then challenge in federal court. The ultimate goal is to persuade the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out a 54-year-old ban on political endorsements by tax-exempt houses of worship.” Read the rest of this entry »
God strikes down His enemies
“Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.” (Prov. 20:22)
Praise God for smiting Kim Jong Il! God’s church has been persecuted by the wicked in North Korea for years now, in ways which are unimaginable to us here in America. Indeed, we’ve known for years that he’s been killing Christians in a Nazi-style gas chamber. Though our Christian brothers and sisters are still in dire circumstances in the heathen nation of North Korea, and our country has ignored their plight, God is patient and has not forgotten them. As He strikes an enemy of the Gospel with a fate worse than death, let us reflect on the goodness of God, His holiness, and His divine judgment.
Though we pray for our enemies, God will not be mocked forever. As the Israel of God cries out, “How long, o Lord, how long,” we know that He is listening. While Kim Jong Il will be going to hell if God does not call him to repent before his death, we can know that he was certainly aware of the Gospel, having decided to rid his country of Christians.
Pray for God’s church around the world, as it goes through tribulation and trials. And praise God, from whom all blessings flow!
How about just ONE thing?
We were at a community barbecue over the weekend, and had an interesting conversation with a boy who was there for the same reason we were (free hamburgers). At any rate, we asked if he went to a church in the area. He informed us that he gets on the bus every Sunday is bused to one of the local megachurches, to go to “Kids’ Church”.
He informed us that “Kids’ Church” at this megachurch was VERY FUN!
“That’s really neat,” said Mrs. Bob Mallory. “Can you tell us one thing you’ve learned about God there?” Read the rest of this entry »
