When did the word “sin” become such a horrible word in the Christian community? You rarely hear the word anymore. Today, we’ve replaced sin with words like “wrong”, “mistake”, “bad”, “foolish”, and “unwise.” People mentally contort themselves to say anything but the word sin. Yet, that’s what God calls our thoughts, behaviors, and words that break His commandments. Christians need to be encouraged in these hard times to preach the Gospel the way we are commanded to. We should never be afraid to proclaim “thus saith the Lord. ” Go ahead and use the “S” word.
“And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” (Acts 10: 42-43)
